Who We Are

The Continental African Diaspora Scholars Network (CADSN) is a vibrant and inclusive voluntary association that brings together scholars across Canada, fostering a strong sense of community among continental African scholars in Canadian universities and colleges. Our network serves as a dynamic tapestry of academia, encompassing faculty members, researchers, and post-doctoral fellows. What unites us is our shared connection to the African continent, whether through birth or familial ties. CADSN values diversity and inclusivity, making it an open space for scholars irrespective of tenured or tenure-track appointments.

The group’s purpose aligns seamlessly with CADSN’s mission, emphasizing community-building among continental African scholars in Canadian institutions. The network promotes intellectual and social engagement, offering vital support and encouragement to its members. Additionally, CADSN actively champions mentorship and sponsorship initiatives, collaborates on impactful research, and contributes to the growth of the next generation of continental African scholars both in Canada and the Diaspora. As members come together under Regional Leads in specific regions of the country, such as Western Canada, Central Canada, and

Atlantic Canada, the network’s objectives are advanced with a regional focus, including the promotion of mentorship and sponsorship, the cultivation of external partnerships, and the facilitation of internal collaborations and support networks. Join CADSN in this enriching journey of academic camaraderie, discovery, and impactful community building.
